Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat called high police officials in a meeting to resolve the issues for which Shia parties and allied Sunni leaders staged a sit-in outside Punjab Assembly in Lahore and asked them to suspend the SHO Fort Abbas forthwith.

The order was issued when protesters delegation led by MWM Political Affairs head Syed Asad Abbas Naqvi called on Punjab Law Minister to present their demands. The sit-in was staged in protest against the brutal police action along with sectarian fanatics against a Majlis-e-Aza in Fort Abbas Bahawalnagar.
Punjab Law Minister formed high level probe committee. On the demand of the protesters delegation, he asked the relevant high police authorities to order suspension of SHO who complied with the order. He also ordered immediate withdrawal of cases against the hosts of the Majlis in Fort Abbas.
They also held a Majlis-e-Aza for Hazrat Bibi Sakina (AS), daughter of Imam Hussain (AS) in commemoration of her martyrdom anniversary. Then, the protesters dispersed.
