23 IS fighters, including Zakat collector, arrested in Mosul

The Iraqi Interior Ministry announced on Monday that security forces had arrested 23 members of ISIS, including a senior leader, in Mosul city.

“Nineveh police forces arrested 23 IS fighters, including a senior commander who was responsible for collecting Zakat from residents in southern Mosul,” Iraqi website Baghdad Today quoted spokesman for the interior ministry Maj. Gen. Saad Maan as saying in a press statement.

“The terrorists were apprehended in al-Quds district in Mosul’s eastern side,” added the spokesman.
