Court seeks JIT report of missing Mumtaz Rizvi within a week
Sindh High Court has directed the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to give its report regarding Engineer Syed Mumtaz Hussain Rizvi within a week. Renowned Shia social workers, philanthropist and doctoral student had gone missing since last week of January this year.
The SHC held fourth hearing of the Mumtaz Rizvi case filed by his family for recovery of Mr. Rizvi. Justice Aftab Hussain Gorar heard the case; issued said orders and adjourned the hearing till May 24.
The lawyer for family of Mumtaz Rizvi said that ISI and MI representatives wrote letters to the court in which they said Mumtaz Rizvi was not under their custody.
Hundreds of law-abiding patriot Pakistani Shia Muslim citizens including scholars and notables have gone missing and their whereabouts are not yet made known. They are believed to have been subjected to enforced disappearance.
