bahrani villageSaudi-backed Bahraini forces have clashed with anti-regime protesters in several regions across the Persian Gulf country,
Security forces attacked protesters in several villages including Sitra, Dar Kulaib and al-Malikiyah on Saturday as anti-regime protests raged on across Bahrain in defiance of a heavy-handed crackdown.

The government troops wounded and arrested a number of peaceful demonstrators.

In the village of Boori, protesters blocked a road by torching tires. Meanwhile, Bahraini demonstrators held a symbolic funeral for a teenager who was shot dead by the police in Saudi city of Qatif last week.

They condemned the regime crackdown on protesters in Saudi Arabia’s restive Eastern Province.

The protesters also called for an end to the Saudi-backed regime crackdown on peaceful protests in Bahrain.

Scores of people have been killed and many others injured or arrested in the suppression of popular protests since they erupted in February 2011 in demand of the Al Khalifa regime’s downfall.

The anti-regime demonstrators hold King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa responsible for the deaths of the protesters during the popular uprising.
