Seven Shia men remanded until 20th

SIU_teamVarious judicial magistrates remanded seven Shia mens allegedly involved in sectarian target killing until January 20 at the City Courts on Tuesday.According to the Shiite News Correspondent, Tanveer Abbas Rizvi alias Kashif, Abrar Hussain Rizvi, Pervez Zaidi, Rifat Raza alias Jehangir, Hasnain Abbas alias Faisal, Sikander Rizvi and Ali Mehdi, alleged activists of the banned Sipah-e-Muhammad, were booked in 20  criminal cases, including 11 cases of targeted killings. The prosecution said that the Special Investigation Unit had arrested the suspects from Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Jauhar with unlicensed weapons and explosive substances on January 2.

The suspects were booked in nine cases registered under Sections 324/34 and 353 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 13-D of the Arms Ordinance, and 4/5 of the Explosive Substances Act.

Two cases of targeted killing were registered against them at the Khwaja Ajmair Nagri and Sir Syed police stations, whereas they were also booked in nine cases of targeted killings, including those of Maulana Nisar Ahmed and Dr Javed Shakoor.

The judicial magistrate (Central) conducted an identification parade on Tuesday in the murder case of Maulana Nisar Ahmed who had been gunned down in New Karachi.Two eyewitnesses, Faisal and Imran, identified one of the suspects, Sikander Rizvi, in the parade.

It may be noted here that the Shia men were arrested by the Law Enforcement Agencies from the various areas of Karachi from the 11th and 12th of Muharram and Shia leaders Mualana Mirza Yousuf Hussain and Maulana Hassan Zafar Naqvi held the press conference at Karachi press club against the illegal detention of these Shia men.

The families of detained Shia men said that their beloved were not affiliated with any organizations and they also filed the legal petition at Sindh High Court about the illegal detention of their family members.
