Shia Ulema Council Sindh chapter president Allama Nazir Taqvi has threatened to surround the Sindh Chief Minister’s CM House in Karachi on 3rd of Moharram if Moharram-related problems were not resolved forthwith.

“Heaps of garbage near Imam Bargah and on the routes of Azadari processions in many areas can be seen even today due to negligence of city nazim while Sindh government is trying to impede the holding of majalis and processions,” he said addressing a press conference at Nishtar Park yesterday.
He warned that Sunni and Shia Muslims would not accept any hurdle in the way of commemoration of the martyrs of Karbala during Moharram. He said that Sunni and Shia Muslims hold congregations and bring out processions to mourn the martyrs of Karbala for centuries but Sindh government was trying to block them and limit them.
Allama Taqvi said that Shia Muslims were the prime victims of terrorist attacks but they never rebelled against the State and always remained peaceful but on the other hand, their patriotism is being misunderstood as their weakness and this was not acceptable to them.
He demanded that Government must not deny permission to any Moharram Majlis and procession, provide foolproof security to the azadars and ensure cleanliness of all the areas with along uninterrupted power supply. He also demanded that Moharram congregations should be exempted from loud speakers act.
