Nawaz Sharif was already disqualifiable for his soft policy on terrorism
By Eye Ali
Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by the apex court for hiding facts about something that the Supreme Court had sought to know from him. But, like all peace-loving patriot and loyal sons of Pakistan, Shia Muslims of Pakistan also are of the view that Nawaz Sharif was disqualifiable for another reason too and that was his policy towards terrorists of banned outfits.
Pakistani Shia Muslims say why they should mourn the disqualification of a person who never took any concrete step to eliminate the notorious and ferocious terrorists of Taliban, Sipah-e-Sahaba (ASWJ), Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, etc.
His interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was open to meet Ahmed Ludhianvi of banned ASWJ. His interior minister allowed terrorists of ASWJ to hold public meeting. Islamabad administration under him and the authorities working under minister of state Tariq Fazal Chaudhry had no problem with the proscribed ASWJ and paved way for their show of strength despite the stiff protest by peace loving Pakistanis. His interior minister was also very much soft to the promoters of terrorism Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Aziz who always challenged the writ of the state.
But, Nawaz Sharif ignored all this and what angered Nawaz was the fact that the FIA working under interior minister played no role like SECP’s ex-chairman Zafar Hijazi to tamper the evidences to the benefit of Nawaz family by exerting pressure on FIA. He did not play a desirable role for Nawaz hence he was forced to stay away. Ch Nisar’s soft policy towards terrorists never angered Nawaz Sharif, why?
Not only his interior minister, but his brother Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab chief minister, Rana Sanaullah, Punjab Law Minister and Rana Mashood, another minister in Shahbaz cabinet were very much known for their nexus with the proscribed ASWSJ/LeJ ringleaders. Masroor Jhangvi, the son of notorious founder of mother of all terrorism, was allowed to become a member of Punjab legislature, why? Why it was not challenged by the federal government or Punjab government? Why this criminal silence? Why his PMLN formed alliance and adjustments in many parts of Punjab with the proscribed terrorist outfit ASWJ?
Your opponent General Pervez Musharraf during his tenure allowed Azam Tariq to contest election from behind the bars and you chose to keep his remnants out of jail and allowed them to contest election. What makes difference?
Nawaz and his government, from the day one, were in favour of talks with the terrorists while entire nation demanded elimination of terrorists through military operation. Army itself launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb and his government remained silent for 24 hours and after mounting public pressure had to announce support. Why that halfhearted response to terrorism?
What action Nawaz Sharif took against the terrorists under National Action Plan on his own?
Hence, Pakistani Shia Muslims believe that Nawaz was disqualifiable for putting Pakistan at the mercy of these ferocious terrorists and pro-terrorism fanatics and his inaction against terrorists and his silence against his cronies for their nexus with terrorists, had already made him disqualifiable in the eyes of all peace-loving Pakistanis, let alone Shia Muslims.
