Mother demands release of illegally arrested Shia Muslim

Mother of Shameem has demanded that his son must be released forthwith. She said he had been taken into illegal and undeclared custody two years ago.

Crying over the worst sort of injustice done to her, she said, her son Shameem was subjected to enforced disappearance on the 10th day of Eid two years ago. She said that had been accused of any crime, he should have been produced in the court of law and he should have been allowed to exercise his legal right to defend himself by legal counsel.
She said that she was not informed of Shameem’s whereabouts despite the lapse of two long years.
She appealed to the President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice of Pakistan and Army Chief to do justice and play their role in immediate release of her son, a Shia Muslim citizen of Pakistan.
