Shaikh Akhtar of Gilgit-Nagar quits Islami Tehreek Pakistan to join PTI
Allama Sajid Naqvi’s party Islami Tehreek Pakistan suffered a setback when Shaikh Akhtar Hussain of Gilgit-Nagar constituency 4 announced parting ways with the ITP and announced he has joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf of Imran Khan.
Fatehullah, general secretary of PTI Gilgit-Baltistan chapter spoke at a joint press conference with Shaikh Akhtar Hussain and said that his joining would embolden PTI in the province.
“PTI will award its candidature to Shaikh Akhtar Hussain and he will contest by election from Nagar as PTI contestant,” he said, expressing hope that people would vote for PTI’s candidate.
Shaikh Akhtar Hussain said that anti-corruption agenda and demand for justice raised by PTI had impressed him hence he joined PTI and now he would win the constituency and present this seat to party on behalf of people of the constituency.
