Former President and ex-Army Chief of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf (retired) has reiterated his stance that Pakistan government should not join Saudi-led military alliance.

“Raheel Sharif should also think 100 times on joining the Saudis,” he said making it clear that it was not in the interest of Pakistan that Pakistan as a sovereign state and Pakistani general become part of a controversial alliance.
Retired army chief Mirza Aslam Beg, former corps commander and now a federal minister Abdul Qadir Baloch, former foreign ministers Sardar Assef Ahmed Ali and Khursheed Mahmud Qasuri and many other former high officials, Sunni and Shia parties and even secular and liberal parties, have opposed the Pakistani membership to Saudi alliance and also opposed Raheel Sharif’s joining but Pakistan government has taken an unpopular decision.
