At behest of Zardari, PPP remains tight-lipped on Saudi military alliance

Pakistan People’s Party has remained silent on the burning life and death issue of Pakistan’s joining Saudi-led military alliance and Sharif government’s no objection to appointment of former army chief General Raheel Sharif to serve the Saudi alliance.

Sources have disclosed that shrewd chief of Pakistan People’s Party seems to have asked his comrades in the party not to say anything against the Saudi monarchy despite the fact that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, civil society, rights activists and Sunni and Shia religio-political parties have opposed the Sharif government’s decision to join Saudi alliance.
Zardari has not issued a single statement against the military alliance that is aimed at serving the interests of enemies of Islam. Zardari is master of political deals hence it is believed that he has reached a covert deal with the Nawaz Sharif government in favour of Saudi kingdom.
