Deobandi cleric admits misuse of fatwa and jihad in Pakistan
Renowned Deobandi cleric Mohammad Khan Shirani, who heads Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology, had admitted that Islamic decrees and tenets were misused in Pakistan.
Speaking to media at the luncheon hosted by Haji Mohammad Bux, he said, this is not the Pakistan of Mohammad Ali Jinnah but this is a country where Ulema remain available for (desired) fatwa and Taliban remain available for fighting in the name of jihad.
He said that the US administration was playing a dangerous game in the region and the Western forces were trying pitting Taliban and Daesh against each other to shed blood of Muslims for their vested interest.
