Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen hosted a conference on “protection of the sanctity of divine saints” at the sacred shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, great Muslim saint, in Sehwan Sharif (Sindh).

The conference was held to send a message to takfiris and nasbis that people of Pakistan were united against their illogical, irrational and anti-Islam ideology of hate and intolerance that was based in blasphemy of the great Muslim saints.
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, chief of the MWM, a leading Shia religio-political party, said that former military dictator General Zia was the responsible for takfiri terrorism in Pakistan. He said that Zia’s proxy role in Afghanistan was aimed at serving the interests of Saudi kingdom and the United States and that was a huge strategic blunder whose fallouts made Pakistan vulnerable because that proxy war in Afghanistan promoted the use of lethal weapons and narcotics in Pakistan and also emboldened the violent extremists and their seminaries.
He said that all schools of thought in Pakistan were united against the menace of terrorism and there was no difference of opinion against the terrorists.
Allama Jafari demanded of the government and security forces to ensure immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the attack on holy shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. He requested the judiciary to award capital punishment to the terrorists. He said people of Sindh have confidence in the armed forces hence Pakistan Army should intensify countrywide operation against takfiris.
Agha Syed Mohammad Raza, Member of Balochistan Assembly, belonging to the MWM, Allama Mukhtar Imami and other office bearers of MWM also spoke. They asked government not to restrict the devotees of great Muslim saints but government must focus on action against the terrorists.
