Saudi Arabia requested Pakistan to become a mediator because she was frightened from Iran: Shahzaib Khanzada

Shiite News: Shahzaib Khanzada, the host of Geo’s program ‘Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Sath’, while analyzing the current tensed situation between Iran and Saudi Arabia said that Pakistan did not mediate between the two countries on its own rather Saudi Arabia had asked Pakistan to play the role of a mediator to ease the tensions. He said “if tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran increase then the US would not support Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has doubts that situation has changed and Iran has now made a deal with the western world that has completely changed the situation. What further increased Saudi Arabia’s reservations was when Iran released some people of the US’ marine group, few days ago, and the US’ foreign minister had thanked Iran for its cooperation. Saudi Arabia also did not have idea that Iran would so strongly react on Sheikh Nimr’s execution and even its consulate would be burned. Saudi Arabia also thought that the US might take advantage of the ongoing tensions and Saudi Arabia would be left alone at international level. There was also a threat of political challenge within Saudi Arabia and because of all these fears and reservations Saudi Arabia requested Pakistan to mediate between the two countries and negotiate with Iran.
