Lahore: Punjab University’s Professor, working for banned organization, arrested by secret agencies
A search operation was conducted by secret agencies in Iqbal Town area of Lahore during which a Professor of Punjab University was arrested on suspicion for having links with a banned organization named ‘Alama’. Secret agencies conducted a raid on a house in Raza block of Iqbal Town and arrested the resident Ghalib Ata, who is a Professor of Punjab University, and shifted him to an unknown place. Sources told that officials also searched the house and car and also taken few things into custody.
According to the University record, 48 year old Professor Ghalib Ata has been working as an Instructor in Institute of Administrative Sciences and has been associated with the University since 2000. Professor Ghalib had also delivered lectures at LUMS, FAST and Civil Services Academy. He had also worked as a researcher at Lahore Chamber of Commerce.
Police claims to be unaware of the action.
