Global Silence Over Atrocities in Palestine and Lebanon Is Alarming, Says Allama Sajid Naqvi

Shiite News: In messages issued on the occasions of the International Day of Older Persons (October 1), the International Day of Non-Violence (October 2), and World Teachers’ Day (October 5), Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi emphasized that respecting older people, promoting non-violence, and honoring teachers are fundamentally important for the progress and success of nations. He warned that the blatant violation of these international principles reflects growing trends of intolerance and violence around the world.

Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said intolerance paves the way for extremism and radicalism. He stated that Islam teaches peace, security and mutual respect, while the misuse of force, attempts to hold states hostage, and a culture of insults and violence instead of dialogue have damaged global peace. He emphasized that respecting and honoring older people is not merely a moral responsibility but also a fundamental characteristic of a civilized society. Likewise, he said teachers play a key role in nation-building, the education of younger generations and character development, and hold a highly respected position in the Qur’an and Eastern traditions.

Expressing deep concern over the tense situation in the Middle East, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi strongly condemned what he described as war and atrocities imposed on people in the region, particularly in Iran, Palestine, Lebanon and Gaza. He said educational institutions, teachers, students, infants and older people in these areas are being subjected to violence and brutality, while what he described as the silence of international institutions is deeply alarming. He urged the international community to go beyond merely observing international days and take effective practical measures to protect human lives, educational institutions and vulnerable communities.
