CTD Conducts Successful Operation in Karak, Two SSP Militants Killed, Two Arrested

Shiite News: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a successful operation based on credible intelligence in Karak district of Kohat, killing two militants affiliated with the proscribed Sipah-e-Sahaba. Two other suspected militants affiliated with the banned group were also arrested during the operation.

According to officials, the Kohat region CTD received information that Sipah-e-Sahaba commander Kaleemullah alias Saif-ul-Umar and deputy commander Shoaib alias Saif were positioned near Neki Sahib Ziarat along with other associates. The militants were reportedly heavily armed and allegedly planning to plant explosives along the roadside.

CTD teams reached the area and engaged the militants in an exchange of fire. As a result, two militants were killed, while others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

Two SMGs, two hand grenades, six magazines, and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from the possession of the slain suspects and taken into custody for investigation.

A search operation is continuing in the area to apprehend the escaped militants and their facilitators.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed and the Additional Inspector General of CTD praised the personnel for their courage and professionalism and reiterated their resolve to continue effective operations until the threat of terrorism is eliminated.
