Strait of Hormuz Fully Under Iran’s Control, No Enemy Warships in Persian Gulf: General Hossein Mohebbi

Shiite News: Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson General Hossein Mohebbi said that the Strait of Hormuz is fully under Iran’s control and that there are currently no enemy warships in the Persian Gulf. He said all enemy warships have moved at least 400 kilometers away from the Strait of Hormuz.

General Mohebbi said that, from a military and regional perspective, no naval vessel can pass through the strategically important waterway without Iran’s permission and strict monitoring. He further claimed that the section of the waterway near Oman is also entirely under Iran’s control.

Discussing the political and economic dimensions of the Strait of Hormuz, he said the area is jointly owned by Iran and Oman. According to him, the two countries held successful negotiations a month earlier and reached an understanding regarding the waters of the waterway and the revenues generated from them.

The IRGC spokesperson strongly criticized the United States, accusing Washington of repeatedly obstructing and delaying the reconciliation process. He warned that if the United States does not accept Iran’s conditions and stop creating obstacles, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened under any circumstances, according to his remarks.
