Iraqi PMF Official Highlights Shia Unity at Iran Leader’s Funeral

Sheikh Adnan Al-Ghanami, head of the Al-Rushd Office of Iraq’s PMF, made the remarks on Friday during a large Arbaeen gathering at the Chazabeh border crossing in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan Province.

Al-Ghanami said the Iraqi people, particularly PMF fighters, have long admired Iran’s martyred Leader, describing him as not only the Leader of a revolution but also a symbol of resistance against oppression for oppressed nations, including Iraq.

He said the participation of thousands of Iraqis in the funeral ceremonies held in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala represented a renewed commitment to the ideals of the martyred Leader and highlighted the enduring ties between the Iranian and Iraqi nations.

Referring to this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage, Al-Ghanami described the annual event as the world’s largest gathering of Muslims and Shia believers, saying it represents unity, solidarity, and brotherhood beyond national, ethnic, and linguistic differences.

He added that Iraq remains committed to welcoming millions of pilgrims from around the world, providing services rooted in the values of Ashura and devotion to the infallible households of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

According to Iranian officials, more than 1.3 million Arbaeen pilgrims have crossed through the Shalamcheh and Chazabeh border crossings in Khuzestan Province so far.
