Hashd al-Shaabi Claims U.S.-Saudi Airstrikes Target Its Bases in Iraq

U.S.-Saudi Airstrikes, Reports of Dead and Injured: Official Statement from Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi)

Shiite News: The Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) said in an official statement that several of its official facilities in different parts of Iraq were targeted in what it described as terrorist airstrikes carried out by U.S. and Saudi forces early this morning.

According to preliminary reports, the attacks resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, while some of the organization’s buildings and property also sustained material damage.

Hashd al-Shaabi described the strikes as an extremely dangerous act of escalation, a blatant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, and an attack on the country’s official security institutions.

The organization confirmed that the relevant authorities are assessing the situation on the ground, while efforts are ongoing to determine the full extent of the damage and compile accurate casualty figures.

Hashd al-Shaabi stated that official details and the latest information will be shared with the public through subsequent official statements as soon as the assessment is complete.

The statement further alleged that the attacks demonstrate that the United States and Saudi Arabia do not respect Iraq’s sovereignty and are willing to go to any lengths to weaken the so-called “Axis of Resistance.” It added that, in its view, history shows such actions only strengthen the resistance.
