Report Claims 20 Popular Mobilization Forces Fighters Killed in Attacks on Headquarters Across Iraq

Shiite News: According to the report, multiple headquarters of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF/Hashd al-Shaabi) were targeted in attacks across the country, resulting in at least 20 fighters killed and 32 others injured. The report states that the casualty figures are preliminary and may change.

According to the Popular Mobilization Authority, the attacks targeted facilities in Baghdad, Wasit, Nineveh, Basra, Kirkuk, Karbala, and Diyala, causing significant damage to headquarters, military vehicles, and equipment. The report also alleges that a mosque near Karbala was struck during the attacks.

Iraqi Member of Parliament Zuhair Shahid Al-Fatlawi strongly condemned the attacks, describing them as an act of aggression targeting Iraqi territory and government facilities.

Another Iraqi lawmaker, Saud Al-Saadi, called for an immediate response and urged the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi armed forces to fulfill his responsibilities in defending Iraq’s sovereignty.

The report argues that the attacks demonstrate an attempt to weaken the “Axis of Resistance,” while asserting that such actions would instead strengthen the resolve of those involved.
