Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada: Attack on Arbaeen Pilgrims Is US and Zionist Terrorism

Shiite News: The Iran office of the Iraqi resistance group Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada has strongly condemned the reported attack targeting Arbaeen pilgrims, describing it as an act of “terrorism” carried out by the United States and the Israeli government.

In a strongly worded statement, the group said that attacking unarmed pilgrims constitutes a blatant violation of international law, human rights, and humanitarian values, adding that those responsible would not escape accountability.

The statement paid tribute to the pilgrims who were killed in the incident and extended condolences to their families, the people of Iran, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and all followers of Ahl al-Bayt. The group said the victims were “martyrs on the path of truth” and claimed that their sacrifice would further strengthen the spirit of resistance.

Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada also alleged that the United States and its allies, after suffering repeated setbacks on the battlefield, are now targeting innocent civilians and pilgrims, describing such actions as evidence of their frustration and weakness.

According to the statement, the Arbaeen pilgrimage has become a global symbol of Islamic awakening and unity, which, it claimed, has alarmed its adversaries. The group alleged that attempts to target pilgrims are intended to weaken this major religious gathering.

The organization emphasized that Imam Hussein’s pilgrims travel to Karbala solely out of devotion to Ahl al-Bayt and argued that any attack against them is an attack on the sentiments of the wider Muslim community. It further claimed that those responsible believe the significance of Arbaeen can be diminished through violence, but asserted that such actions would instead strengthen and reinforce the movement.

In conclusion, Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada warned that crimes committed against unarmed pilgrims would not go unpunished. The group stated that those who planned and carried out the attack would face serious consequences and claimed that the blood of those killed would further strengthen the resolve of the resistance movement.
