Sindh Imposes Restrictions on Entry and Speeches of Certain Religious Scholars and Zakirs During Muharram

ShiiteNews: According to a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department, restrictions have been imposed on the entry, movement, and public speeches of certain religious scholars and Zakirs in Sindh during Muharram to maintain law and order.

The notification states that the decision was made based on recommendations from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh and intelligence information received by the authorities.

A list of individuals subject to the restrictions has also been released. The list includes scholars and speakers from various schools of thought, including Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Allama Syed Sabir Hussain Shah Naqvi, Agha Ali Hussain Qomi, and Allama Jafar Jatoi.

The notification also names speakers from Punjab, including Mushtaq Ahmed Mushtaq, Allama Syed Shabbir Hussain Shah Naqvi, and Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi.

Additionally, 135 scholars and Zakirs, including Maulana Taj Muhammad Hanafi, Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi, and Maulana Muhammad Isa Samoon, have reportedly been barred from entering districts outside their respective areas within Sindh.

The Home Department has directed commissioners, deputy commissioners, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant authorities to ensure implementation of the order.

The decision is expected to draw reactions from various religious and social circles as discussions continue regarding security arrangements and religious gatherings during Muharram.
