Dangerous Afghan Commander of Fitna al-Khawarij Killed by Security Forces
According to Shiite News, a key leader of Fitna al-Khawarij, Afghan commander Basir, was killed during an encounter with security forces. On May 20, 2026, security forces carried out a successful operation in the Arjam Kili area of Saranan, eliminating the important Afghan commander Basir, while one of his Afghan associates was arrested.

Based on intelligence information, security forces tracked the Khawarij commander Basir from the Shaban area. The killed militant, Basir, was the son of Afghan militant commander Noorullah, who had allegedly planned multiple attacks against security forces. Basir also served as the operational commander of infiltration groups attempting to enter through the Shaban area.
Earlier, on February 22, 2026, security forces had killed a group of five suicide bombers in Pishin, allegedly operating under Basir’s supervision.
The killing of Basir is being described as a major success for security forces in the fight against terrorism. Operations against Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan are continuing under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam.
