Shia Representation in Punjab Quran Board: Prominent Scholars Including Allama Dr. Muhammad Hussain Akbar Appointed
According to Shiite News, the Punjab Government’s Department of Auqaf has announced the office-bearers of the Punjab Quran Board.
For Shia representation in the Punjab Quran Board, Allama Dr. Muhammad Hussain Akbar, founder and head of Idara Minhaj-ul-Hussain, Johar Town; Allama Muhammad Afzal Haidari, senior teacher at Jamia Al-Muntazar and General Secretary of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Shia Pakistan; prominent Shia leader Khawaja Basharat Hussain Karbalai; and distinguished scholar Mrs. Farwa Batool have been included in the board.

The Quran Board will work on matters related to the publication and dissemination of the Holy Quran across the province. The appointments of these members have been made for a period of three years. After the completion of the three-year term, the board officials will be selected again.
Punjab Auqaf Department Secretary Dr. Ehsan Bhutta has formally issued the notification regarding the appointments of the board members.
