In his tweet, the defense minister went further, calling Israel a “cancerous state” and wrote: “I pray that those who created this state on Palestinian land to get rid of European Jews burn in the fire of hell.”

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned these remarks as “provocative” and strongly criticized them. Israel also questioned Pakistan’s credibility as a mediator between the United States and Iran.

It is worth noting that amid growing international pressure and rising diplomatic tensions, Khawaja Asif later deleted the controversial tweet, although the post is still available on Facebook.

This statement came at a time when Pakistan is hosting talks in Islamabad between the United States and Iran aimed at achieving a ceasefire.
