Sheikh Hamoudi and Kurdistan Democratic Party stress the need to expedite the formation of the three presidencies
The head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, and a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) headed by Fadhil Mirani, emphasized on Tuesday the necessity of expediting the formation of the three presidencies (President, Prime Minister, and Speaker of Parliament) according to the established timelines.
The media office of the Supreme Islamic Council stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, received a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party headed by Fadhil Mirani, where they discussed developments in the political process, the challenges of the current phase, and the progress of dialogues to fulfill constitutional requirements within the designated timeframes.”
The statement added that “both sides expressed their keenness to intensify responsible dialogues among the various political forces to determine priorities and build a clear, comprehensive, and logical vision commensurate with the challenges and requirements of the next phase, leading to a smooth transfer of power and sustainable stability for the country.”
The statement further indicated that both sides stressed “the importance of all forces working in a harmonious national spirit, free from self-interest, to expedite the formation of the three presidencies within the established timeframes and to establish a new corrective phase that fulfills the aspirations of the people and strengthens their confidence in the democratic system.”
