The regional leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba’th Party – Yemen condemned and strongly denounced the UN Security Council’s decision to extend sanctions imposed on the Yemeni people.

In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the party described the decision as a tool of collective punishment against Yemen for its humanitarian and principled stance in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and as a desperate attempt to retaliate against Yemen’s active role in supporting Gaza and Palestine.

The statement noted that the Security Council’s decision, under pressure from the United States, the Israeli entity, and their regional allies, to renew the sanctions contradicts the UN’s role, undermines the truce and de-escalation efforts in Yemen, exposes the truth behind the UN’s claims of pursuing peace in Yemen, strengthens the actions of the U.S., Israel, and the coalition of aggression aimed at stirring chaos and tightening the blockade on Yemen.

The regional leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba’th Party reaffirmed its rejection of the Security Council’s decision regarding the so-called “peacekeeping force in Gaza,” describing it as highly dangerous , a reconfiguration of control under U.S. planning and supervision, serving only the objectives of the Israeli occupation , its colonial and Nazi agendas.

The statement considered the decision a blatant ethical violation and a serious breach of international law, conventions, and relevant agreements, highlighting the total incapacity , paralysis of the international community and its institutions, which threatens to escalate into a global war endangering the entire world.

The regional leadership called on the Security Council and the international community to assume humanitarian responsibility toward the tragedy and suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid, open crossings, and allow humanitarian organizations to carry out their missions.

It reiterated that Yemen’s stance, both leadership and people, in support of the Palestinian people and their cause is a matter of principle, not subject to compromise, pressure, intimidation, or collective punishment employed by the coalition of aggression against Yemen and its people.
