Shiite News: Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology Pakistan and Chairman of Imam Khomeini (ra) Trust, Allama Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi al-Najafi, addressed the turban-tying and award distribution ceremony at Jamia Imam Khomeini (ra), Mari Indus, District Mianwali, emphasizing that the world is a testing ground and the true purpose of human life is to act according to the will of Allah.
He said that the Qur’an is the most comprehensive code of guidance for humanity and urged students to dedicate their short lives to attaining eternal success.
Discussing the relationship between knowledge and action, Allama Naqvi said that all blessings granted to human beings — youth, health, and resources — are temporary and will be accounted for. Actions performed during youth, earning lawful sustenance, and spending it in rightful ways will all be questioned in the Hereafter. He urged students to make the best use of their time and opportunities.
Highlighting the spiritual and social significance of the amamah (turban), he said it is a symbol of knowledge, piety, and a safeguard against satanic whispers — a mark of dignity linked to the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and the Ahl al-Bayt (as). He advised students to always preserve it with respect and honor.
Allama Naqvi stressed that night prayer (Salat al-Tahajjud), daily Qur’an recitation, and memorization of the Qur’an are the pillars of a student’s spiritual and intellectual growth. He said that a constant connection with the Qur’an nourishes both heart and tongue with divine understanding, and the rank of a memorizer of the Qur’an is supremely elevated.
He emphasized the vital role of teachers and seminaries in guiding society and preventing discord. He urged graduating students to return to their regions and serve the faith, reminding them that “if the learned do not engage with society, knowledge loses its value.”
Referring to the pious predecessors, he said that great scholars often left major cities to serve in remote areas, and their sincerity was the secret of their greatness. He advised students to set a definite time for study and afterward dedicate their lives to serving religion.
At the end of his address, Allama Naqvi prayed for the security of Pakistan, the safety of soldiers, the protection of the oppressed, and the establishment of justice, seeking divine assistance against tyrannical and imperialist powers.
