Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry has confirmed the deaths of two government troops in a Yemeni cross border attack on the southwestern Najran region.

Also on Sunday, Yemeni forces attacked a military base in the southwestern Jizan region’s Khawbah district, killing a reportedly large number of Saudi troops.

In a separate attack on Jizan, Yemeni army forces backed by popular committees killed at least three Saudi soldiers with sniper fire and destroyed a Saudi tank along with two military vehicles.

Yemeni military sources confirmed earlier in the day that they had downed a Saudi Apache helicopter in the al-Safer area in the central Ma’rib province.

Yemeni forces launch such attacks in retaliation for Saudi Arabia’s merciless airstrikes, carried out since March 26 without a UN mandate.

Meanwhile, Saudi warplanes carried out strikes on the capital city Sana’a and multiple regions spanning Ma’rib.

Over a dozen Yemenis were killed and over 50 were injured as jets blitzed western province of Ibb.

The conflict has reportedly left more than 5,300 people dead and thousands of others wounded.

Also on Sunday, leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement Abdel Malek al-Houthi blamed the US for complicity in the Saudi Arabia’s onslaught against his country.

He added that his people will not give up the fight against their aggressors and will keep going until all their rights are defended.
