Blasphemy in the Name of Free Speech Is the Hallmark of Western Civilization: Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri

Shiite News: Blasphemy against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the name of freedom of expression is the hallmark of Western civilization,” said Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, head of Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM), while addressing the annual Ishq-e-Payambar-e-Azam (PBUH) Unity Conference organized by the Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) in collaboration with MWM Pakistan at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad.

The grand gathering, held in connection with the blessed birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was attended by leaders of major political and religious parties, prominent scholars, clerics, and a large number of men and women from across the country.

Addressing the conference, Senator Jafri said: “Humanity today is being crushed under the weight of oppression and tyranny. Western civilization hides behind the veil of media, but whenever they commit blasphemy against the Seal of Prophets (PBUH), their moral bankruptcy and true face are exposed. Look at Gaza—this is the real manifestation of their so-called civilization. Anyone who does not stand with the people of Gaza today cannot claim to be standing with God. The United States cannot be trusted. Our rulers are handing over the nation’s wealth to them, while their policies bring only destruction.”

He also criticized the government’s failure in dealing with floods and natural disasters, saying:

“Our people are drowning, families are devastated, yet rulers continue to hide facts instead of mobilizing the nation for relief. It is the government’s responsibility to protect and support its people, but corruption and incompetence have left citizens helpless.”

Speaking on the occasion, Liaqat Baloch, Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, said:

“The Muslim Ummah must reflect on why it is divided. Global imperialist powers spend millions to sow divisions among us. The Iranian Revolution was a victory for the entire Muslim world, but the West labeled it as sectarian to weaken Muslim unity. The Milli Yakjehti Council was established precisely to counter such conspiracies and build a platform of unity. Today, our economy is crippled by interest-based systems, while laws contrary to Qur’an and Sunnah are being passed under international pressure. The destruction of Palestine and Gaza is being watched in silence, but let it be known: no legislation against the honor of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will be tolerated in Pakistan. The MYC will remain at the forefront to protect Namoos-e-Risalat (the sanctity of Prophethood).”

Other speakers at the conference included Mufti Gulzar Naeemi (head of Jamaat Ahl-e-Haram), Allama Syed Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, Pir Ghulam Rasool Owaisi, Dr. Zameer Akhtar, Maulana Tayyab Shah Bukhari, Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi, Engineer Hameed Hussain, Allama Akhtar Abbas, Syed Fida Ahmed Shah, Allama Syed Akbar Kazmi, Khawaja Mudassar Mahmood Tunisi, Syed Abdul Waheed Shah, among others.

The concluding message of the conference was clear: the supremacy of Qur’an and Sunnah must be upheld, the law protecting the honor of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will not be compromised, and no conspiracy against the unity of the Ummah will succeed.
