Shiite News:Member of the National Assembly and Parliamentary Leader of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan, Engineer Hamid Hussain Turi, held an important meeting in Islamabad with Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the serious problems faced by pilgrims (Zaireen), the blocking of passports of residents from Kurram district, and the arrest of Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia.
Strong concern was expressed over the continued ban on land routes for pilgrims and the government’s failure to implement the recommendations of the Pilgrims Committee.
It was noted that this situation is causing constant distress to pilgrims and their families, and constitutes a grave violation of basic human and civil rights.
Engineer Turi also drew the minister’s attention to the fact that thousands of workers from Kurram district are suffering due to the blocking of their passports.
In addition, the lack of effective government action for the release of innocent Pakistani workers detained in Saudi Arabia was described as extremely regrettable.
He demanded that the government take urgent steps to resolve these issues so that workers can support their families and overcome their economic hardships.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry assured Engineer Turi that these matters would be discussed with the relevant authorities and immediate steps would be taken for their resolution.
