Shiite News: Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Founder and Supreme Patron of Tehreek Minhaj-ul-Quran, while addressing the “Bain ul Masalik Hamahangi aur Ittehade e Ummat Conference” held at Jamia Al-Furqan in Glasgow, Scotland, said that the Ummah is being weakened by takfir and insults. If our thinking and perspective are broad, then even if we are not the same, we can still be united.

The conference was attended by prominent scholars, religious scholars, imams of mosques and madrasas of all schools of thought in large numbers.

It was the first and largest conference of its kind in Scotland. Upon his arrival at the Jamia Al-Furqan Islamic Center, the Head of the UK Islamic Mission, Syed Tufail Shah and Dr. Javed Nadvi, along with other scholars, welcomed Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri warmly.

In his address, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said that if all religions continue to have a healthy dialogue with each other on the basis of knowledge and research, only good will arise in society. Islam is a divine religion that connects hearts.
If religious teaching and preaching, research and education begin to divide hearts instead of uniting them; if reconciliation is replaced by resistance, and love gives way to hatred and abusive language, then we must hold our own selves accountable.

He said that religion does not create impurity but creates an environment of love, tenderness and tolerance.

Tahir-ul-Qadri said that just as all the organs of the body—heart, mind, hands, feet, eyes—work within their respective spheres, the body remains healthy. Similarly, if the different sects of the Muslim Ummah complement each other’s religious aspects, an atmosphere of unity is possible.

He said some sects, like the heart, emphasize spirituality, love of God, and the subtleties of Sufism;

Some, like the brain, consider knowledge, logic, and reasoning to be the foundation of religion;

Some, like the eyes, strictly adhere to the outward commands of Sharia;

Some, like the hands, consider service to humanity and reform of society to be the essence of religion.

He said that if any organ exceeds its sphere, the body becomes ill. Similarly, if a sect considers itself the only right and descends to takfir and insulting others, it will harm Islam and weaken the Ummah.

In conclusion, he said: Unity does not mean uniformity, but rather finding commonalities in diversity and establishing unity.
