Calling Parachinar crisis a “tribal or land dispute” is turning a blind eye to ground realities, Senator Raja Nasir
Shiite News: At the press conference of the Pakistan Army Spokesperson, Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri has said in response that the military spokesperson’s statement that the Parachinar crisis cannot be called terrorism is a cause for deep concern.
If targeting and committing massacres and violence on the roads is not terrorism, then is it terrorism? Acquitting oneself by simply calling the crisis a “tribal or land dispute” is tantamount to turning a blind eye to the ground realities.
The people of Kurram deserve justice, security and sustainable peace, which should be the top priorities of the state to ensure.
I agree that the Kurram conflict should be resolved through a purely political process, but the security agencies cannot be acquitted of their responsibility.
The provincial and federal governments should intensify their efforts to resolve the land disputes at the root of the Kurram crisis.
Let us resolve this grave crisis once and for all through decisive and compassionate measures so that no more innocent civilians are killed.
