Central SUC leader arrested in Makkah
Shiite News: After performing Umrah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, Allama Syed Nazer Abbas Taqvi, the Central Additional Secretary of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan was arrested by the Saudi royal government and transferred him to an unknown location.
No concrete reason has been revealed for the arrest of Allama Nazer Abbas Taqvi by the Saudi authorities.
Pertinent to mention here that Allama Syed Nazer Taqvi was present in Saudi Arabia on the auspicious occasion of 13th Rajab al-Murajab to celebrate the blessed birth of Maula Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s.).
It is being feared that Allama Nazer Abbas Taqvi has been arrested for hoisting the flag of Ali (A.S.) in the Kaaba on the occasion of the birth of Imam Ali (A.S.).
The Saudi royal government has arrested many Shia scholars before, including founder ISO martyr Dr. Mohammad Ali Naqvi, Allama Fazil Hussain Mousavi, Allama Ijaz Hussain for the crime of protesting against America and Israel on the occasion of Hajj in the 1980s.
Naqvi and others were also arrested who were released after several months of imprisonment.
On the other hand, there are serious concerns in Pakistan over the arrest of Allama Nazer Abbas Taqvi. The Jafaria Nation demands the government of Pakistan to play its diplomatic role to release Allama Nazer Abbas Taqvi from the prison of the Saudi government immediately.
