Interior Minister appeals to Iraqi counterpart to urgently address issues of pilgrims
Shiite News: Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah hold a telephone conversation with his Iraqi counterpart Usman Ali Fardhood and discussed the delay in issuing visas to Pakistani pilgrims, the increase in the number of visas and the difficulties faced by Pakistani pilgrims in entering Iraq.
Five thousand Pakistanis are stuck on the Iran-Iraq border. He requested to allow pilgrims to enter Iraq, and permanently open the Iran-Iraq border for Pakistani pilgrims entering Iraq through Iran.
Iraqi Interior Minister Usman Ali Farhoud welcomed all suggestions of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and assured for the immediate approval of the demands.
At the request of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, the Iraqi counterpart Usman Ali Farhoda announced the opening of all entry points for Pakistani visitors. The announcement of the Iraqi Minister of Interior to give special visa facility to Pakistani pilgrims going to Iraq for Chehlum Imam Hussain
It was also decided to increase the number of visas for visitors to Iraq from Pakistan, and also agreed to form a Pakistan-Iraq joint committee for a sustainable solution to other problems, including the visitors.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah thanked his Iraqi counterpart for immediately allowing five thousand Pakistani pilgrims stranded on the Iran-Iraq border to enter Iraq. He also thanked his counterpart for issuing a special visa permit for increasing number of pilgrims on the occasion of Arbaeen.
The duration of the telephone conversation between Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and his Iraqi counterpart was about forty minutes.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah invited Iraqi Interior Minister Usman Ali Farhuda to visit Pakistan. The Iraqi Interior Minister expressed good wishes to his Pakistani counterpart. And accepted the invitation to come to Pakistan soon.
