police arrestAnother 9 Shiites have either been arrested or just been taken into custody for no apparant reason, since yesterday, from different areas of Karachi. Police has yet to explain why the men were taken from their homes.

Orangi Town: Police has arrested 3 Shiite boys from Orangi Town and has moved them to the Mominabad Police Station, however no reason has been provided for the arrests.
Surjani Town: A Shiite, currently being identified as Salim, has been taken into custody by the police, and again no case has yet been filed against him.
Hassan Colony: 2 Shiite boys, Yasir and Ali, were also arrested by the police last night from a clinic in Hassan Colony, though the police denys this.

It is worth mentioning that last night another 3 Shiites were arrested from Nazimabad Al Arif Apartments. They have been identified as Wajahat Ali, Turab Hussain and Haider Zaidi. Their whereabouts, like those arrested in Hassan Colony and Surjani Town, remain unknown.

The Shiite boys who are suspected to have been taken by the police but are missing none the less have been identified as; Gullu, Kashif, Qasim Saheel, Ali Yasir and Arsalan.

There is outrage in Karachi at these unfair arrests by the police which started yesterday and have so far left atleast 9 Shiite youngsters missing or arrested for unknown crimes they didn’t commit. Police and Security Agencies seem helpless infront of those committing the Shiite murders and have seemingly turned on Shiites themselves. However, Shiites make up a large percentage of Pakistan’s population and the injustice towards them is pushing Pakistan to the very edge of the cliff.
