The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Friday called the humanitarian situation in Yemen “catastrophic” and said more than 11 million Yemeni children were in need of humanitarian assistance.

“Yemen is facing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world,” UNICEF said in a report, adding that 11.3 million children in Yemen are currently in need of humanitarian assistance.

Mark Lowcock, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, recently stated that Yemen is facing the worst humanitarian catastrophe in history.

Yemeni children are the main victims of the invasion of Yemen by the Saudi coalition.

Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, invaded Yemen in March 2015. The outbreak of war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has so far killed tens of thousands and displaced millions of Yemenis.

The Saudi military aggression has also left the impoverished country of Yemen severely short of food and medicine.

The Saudi regime and its allies have so far failed to achieve their goals in the war against Yemenis.
