Islamic Awakening Conference held to commemorate death anniversary of Imam Khomeini

Speakers at an Islamic Awakening Conference said that Imam Khomeini played a leading role in the revival of true Islam.
The conference was held to commemorate the 23rd death anniversary of founder of Islamic Revolution Grand Ayatollah Imam Khomeini at Nishtar Park Karachi. Perwan-e-Wilayat and Payam-e-Wilayat Foundation organized the conference.

The speakers at the conference namely Hujjat ul Islam Jawad Naqvi, Jamaat-e-Islami’s leader Asadullah Bhutto and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan leader Qazi Ahmed Noorani said that Imam Khomeini was a great leader in the eyes of both Shias and Sunnis.

Allama Jawad Naqvi said that conspiracies had been hatched to impose two models of Islam on Pakistan and Pakistanis. He said that many scholars were taken to Turkish visit and they would soon announce making speeches in favour of Turkish brand of Islam.

He said that another group was trying to impose Taliban brand of Islam and both of these brand don’t represent true Islam. He said that true Islam teaches love and fraternity and unity of numerous religious groups but rejected imperialism.

He said that true Islamic interests cannot be compromised and Imam Khomeini successfully practiced true Islam and brought out his revolution based on Islam.

“Whole of the Muslim world is inspired by Imam Khomeini and his revolution because Imam and revolution awakened Muslims throughout the world,” he said.

JI’s Mr. Bhutto said that JI’s founder Abul Aala Moudoodi had fully supported Imam Khomeini and Islamic revolution. He said that a federal minister in Pakistan belonged to Jamaat exerted pressured on the ruler of the time in Pakistan to recognize the Islamic revolutionary government soon after the revolution. He said that Mr. Moudoodihad convinced Saudi Arabia to acknowledge the revolution and revolutionary government.

Professor Sibt-e-Jafar, Shuja Rizvi and Ali Deep Rizvi recited taranas to pay rich tributes to Imam Khomeini and the revolution.
