Safeguarding National Interest is our prime duty, Qureshi

Shiite News: Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that there is no more no need to keep Pakistan in Gray List. Expressing his reaction on the decision of FATF’s to keep Pakistan in Gray List as previous he raised question that it has to determine whether FATF is technical forum or Political platform? And there is a need to check if said forum is being used for Political objectives.

He further said that we were given 27 points by FATF in which they had endorsed fulfillment of 26 points as well as progress on 27th point which was being ahead of accomplishment. According to my point of view, despite of such progress, now, there is no need to keep Pakistan in gray list any more.

He made clear that the measure we made just to keep our national interest in view. Prevention of Money Laundering is in the great interest of Pakistan, so we will keep it in practice in any circumstances.
