GDA leader Sardar Rahim meets MWM leaders to seek support in NA 249 by election.

Sindh-based Grand Democratic Alliance has fielded PML-Functional leader Sardar Abdul Rahim as electoral contestant on aforesaid constituency.

On Thursday, he visited the office of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e- Muslimeen in Karachi. He met MWM leaders Ali Hussain Naqvi, Allama Mubashir Hassan and Allama Sadiq Jafari.

The MWM has fielded Allama Mubashir Hassan as its electoral contestant for National Assembly seat from this constituency.

Sardar Rahim visit aimed at his withdrawal in his favour. Therefore, he requested MWM to supports him so that he contests as their joint candidate.

Furthermore, he said he believes in service of the masses and MWM too has identical views on this matter.

Later, both sides addressed a joint press conference.

While answering a question, Sardar Rahim said that PTI should withdraw its contender from NA249.

He said GDA had always supported both PTI and MQM. Therefore, they should also support GDA in reciprocation.

However, MWM leaders assured him that they would table his request at their council meeting.

If approved, they may reconsider their electoral course for NA-249 by-election.

Interestingly, PTI that rules Pakistan leads a coalition at the Centre with the support of the GDA.

Moreover, it essentially needs GDA support in Sindh province where the PTI has its MPA leader of the Opposition in provincial legislature.

But MWM Sindh chapter and Karachi chapter take independent decisions while keeping in view the local realities.
