Pakistan and Iran agree to further enhance bilateral railway ties during a meeting in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan and IRNA, Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan have reached this agreement during a meeting of Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mohammad Ali Hosseini met with Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
They agreed to further enhance bilateral relations in the railway sector. The two countries want to also promote trade through railways.
Moreover, both countries also expressed their readiness to deepen joint cooperation within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Their meeting held at the railway ministry where they discussed matters of mutual interests and cooperation in the railway sector.
Meanwhile, Hosseini emphasized the development of mutual relations, especially in the field of railways.
ECO and CPEC
He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate with the Pakistan Railways in the framework of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and China-Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
He also called for continued consultations between Iranian and Pakistani officials to exchange experiences and remove obstacles in the path of joint cooperation.
Moreover, he said that railway cooperation would play an important role in developing economic relations between the two neighboring countries.
