According to the police, the suspects were affiliated with the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan and involved in several sectarian killings, including the brutal murder of three Shia lawyers in the Arambagh area on January 25. The CID police recovered three Kalashnikovs, pistols, hand grenades and live rounds from their possession.
The suspects were produced before two ATC presiding officers for obtaining their remand in police encounter, attempt to murder, possession of explosive substance and illegal weapon cases amidst tight security.
