73 die from diphtheria in Yemen: WHO

The number of people who lost their lives to diphtheria in Yemen reached 73, World Health Organization said in a report.

Since August 2017, 73 people have died due to a diphtheria outbreak in Yemen, said WHO on Monday, according to a London-based Arab daily.

So far, 1,294 instances of the disease have been reported.

Also, the Yemen News Agency (Saba), quoting military officials as saying on Monday, that ‘The Saudi aggression warplanes waged 58 strikes and ground bombing hit several provinces over the past 24 hours, inflicting heavy damage to citizens’ properties’.

Saudi Arabia and its allies attacked Yemen in March 2015 to reinstate the deposed president of Yemen Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Thousands of Yemenis have been killed in the Arabian-American coalition’s attack and more than 2,000 have died due to a cholera epidemic.
