Ansarullah: Pro-Hadi Forces Violate Ceasefire Concurrent with Peace Talks

The Yemeni popular forces underlined that the militias loyal to former fugitive President Mansour Hadi have violated the truce in Yemen as the peace negotiations are underway in Kuwait.

“Pro-Hadi militias and the terrorist groups pounded several military positions of the Yemeni army in the town of Sarvah in the Western part of Ma’rib province,” Ansarullah senior commander Ali al-Zeidi told FNA on Wednesday.

He noted that Anasrullah’s military centers in Jabal Hilat and al-Rabi’a were also hit by Hadi’s supporters.

The local sources in al-Jawf also announced that the Saudi air force and pro-Hadi militias also violated the ceasefire in the Western province several times.

“Hadi’s supporters also hit the popular forces’ military positions in the town of al-Qayl,” al-Zeidi added.

In a relevant development on Monday, Ansarullah stressed that the ceasefire should be strengthened before discussing any other issue during the UN-brokered talks taking place in the Kuwaiti capital.

“If the aggression does not completely be halted, discussing any other issue on the agenda wont be needed,” the group’s spokesman, Mohamamd Abdelsalam said in remarks published by al-Manar.

Meanwhile, Abdelsalam noted that the so-called anti-Qaeda campaign is just a pretext to divert attention from a scheme aimed at targeting the country’s South.

Earlier, Abdelsalam noted that the course of this round of Yemeni peace talks will not differ previous ones, stressing that the “continuation of the aggression proves that ceasefire announcement by UN is untrue.”

The continuation of Saudi air strikes on Yemen confirms that Riyadh has not stopped the hostilities and would go on its moves to make advances in several areas across the Yemeni territories.

Since March 26, 2015, Yemen has been under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
