End the Cruel Blockade on the Yemeni People, Sana’a Sends Strong Letter to the UN Security Council

According to ShiiteNews, the Sana’a government has sent a strong message to the United Nations Security Council demanding an end to the blockade imposed on the Yemeni people. The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Sana’a government sent two letters to the President of the Security Council and the UN Secretary-General, calling for the immediate lifting of the blockade on Yemen.

The letter stated that the continuation of the “cruel blockade” against the Yemeni people, which began on March 26, 2015, is not in the interest of international peace and security. It further said that the continued aggressive actions by the United States and its allies have caused severe damage to the region and could lead to disastrous consequences. The current “neither war nor peace” situation is unacceptable in any form.
