The Executive Mine Action Center destroyed 260 anti-vehicle mines today in the Ahwaz area of Al-Hali District, Hodeidah Governorate. The operation was funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross as part of ongoing efforts to clear the governorate of remnants of the aggression.

The destruction process took place in two stages: the sixth platoon disposed of 140 mines, while the second platoon destroyed 120 mines, all of which were remnants of the aggression discovered in minefields No. (1) and (2).

Executive Director of the Center, Brig. Gen. Ali Safrah, stated that field teams continue working at high pace in targeted areas to remove sources of danger and secure residential and agricultural zones, helping residents return safely to their homes and farms.

He praised the field teams for their efforts and sacrifices in saving lives and protecting civilians from the dangers of mines and explosive remnants of war.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Hodeidah Branch, Col. Yahya Sabr, said clearance operations are ongoing across contaminated areas as part of a plan aimed at reducing the humanitarian risks posed by explosive remnants to the population.

Additionally, Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Jarbi, head of the second clearance platoon, and Engineer Marwan Al-Abyadh, head of the emergency team, explained that field efforts rely on precise surveying and strict safety measures to ensure proper handling of mines and explosive devices left by the aggression.
