Yemeni Army, Popular Forces Storm Saudi Base, Destroy Military Equipment
Informed military sources in the North confirmed on Friday that the Yemeni Army alongside the popular forces raided Saudi Arabia’s al-Doud base near borders with Yemen, and destroyed several Saudi tanks and armored vehicles.
The sources said that, in a joint operation, the army men and volunteer forces entered al-Doud base in the Southern parts of Saudi Arabia and destroyed their military equipment after heavy clashes.
There have thus far been no report on the number of casualties, but sources said the Saudi soldiers have retreated from the base.
Yemeni forces fired 50 rockets at several Saudi military bases in the province of Jizan on Thursday in retaliation for the Saudi air strikes on the impoverished country.
Meanwhile, the political council of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement condemned the deadly Saudi airstrikes against Yemeni people and the international community’s silence regarding the Saudi aggression.
The council said that Riyadh has crossed all red lines in its aggression against the impoverished nation.
Saudi Arabia has been bombing Yemen in the last 107 days to bring its ally, fugitive president Mansour Hadi, back to power.
The airstrikes have so far claimed the lives of more than 5,024 civilians, mostly women and children.
