Yemeni Army, Popular Forces Take Control over Parts of Saudi Bases in Southern Borders

Informed sources confirmed on Friday that the Yemeni Army alongside the country’s popular forces stormed the Saudi military bases near borders and took control over parts of the bases after fierce clashes with the Saudi soldiers.

The sources told the FNA that the country’s army men and popular forces broke into the Saudi frontlines and entered several military bases near the border with Yemen.

The sources have not yet commented on the possible death toll and casualties the Saudis suffered after their defeat in defending the military bases.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 93 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

The Monarchy’s attacks have so far claimed the lives of at least 4,727 civilians, mostly women and children.
