Yemeni Revolutionaries Call for National Gatherings against Saudi Genocide
The Supreme Revolutionary Council of Yemen (SRCY) called on the nation from all walks of life to participate in countrywide demonstrations on Friday to oppose the Saudis’ aggressions, siege and genocide against Yemenis.
As the Saudi-led coalition continues its offensive in Yemen, the SRCY called for a popular gathering in al-Taqeer Square in Sana’a later today.
The SRCY said that the gathering will utilized the slogan of “aggression and siege are equal to genocide” to inform the world countries and the international bodies over the ongoing bloodshed in the country by the Saudi-led coalition.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 44 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 3,585 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
On April 21, Saudi Arabia declared end to Yemen airstrikes after weeks of bombings, but airstrikes are still underway.
